I'm sure that didn't hurt, but in reality what he said is more or less in line with existing estimates (especially the "revenue over 950 million", 'cause current street estimates put NTAP's 2003 revs at 976 million on average:

Corporate spending "stabilizing" doesn't mean much except that it isn't going down. I have no bone to pick with NTAP (or any of the other SAN companies for that matter), except to note that they are trading NOW at 65X 2003 earnings (which already take into account all the good stuff the CEO said today). For that to be a good investment requires they have all kinds of good news appear that isn't on the horizon now.

OTOH, what DID juice the stock TODAY was the combination of QLGC's reasonably bland report yesterday, coupled with a 9+ percent short interest. Potent fuel indeed when you're already oversold...
