Follow thru? You mean instead of 3 weeks of selling and 15 straight down days? Thats the pattern lately. Spike it 200 points in a day, sell it for the next 3 weeks straight. No in between at all. Manic Depressive.

Added tonight was CLTK. The List includes some semiconductor related issues.

I haven't seen so much "green" in a long time.

Today was the kind of rally that usually does see some strong follow through. A couple more up days would not be hard to imagine. We seem to have seen a number of short sharp rallies the last six months but lately the SOX really did break down. Yes we are back firmly above 500 on the SOX but do you think we can get the NASDAQ above 2000 on this CSCO news? Unfortunately the news that sparked the rally really was not all that good.

As for today I can find no semiconductors that traded downward except for a handful of very thinly traded issues.

Here is the SOX Components/One day delay:

In truth it's obvious to me we have seen the worst for the industry. We will see more dollars likely put into play in the next couple of sessions by investors who fear they will miss the rally. Short covering will end soon though and then we will run into fears about overvaluations again.

We are nearly done with earnings season. Does anyone really think AMAT's earning's report can spark the kind of rally we had today?

Color me doubtful.
