Anadigics Inc. has increased its outlook for the second quarter, saying it now expects revenue to be $23 million, with a loss per share of 29 cents.

The Warren, N.J.-bashed chipmaker specializes in radio frequency ICs for broadband and wireless communications. The company said demand for its CDMA wireless products would push wireless revenue to $13 million for the quarter. That’s a $4 million, or 44 percent increase from the first quarter, the company said, and a $2 million, or 18 percent improvement over the previously forecast $11 million. Broadband revenue is expected to come in at $10 million.

Improved demand from new and existing wireless CDMA customers prompted the company to up its outlook. Anadigics previously forecast total revenue to be $21 million with a loss per share of 31 cents.

Following the announcement shares in Anadigics shot up nearly 20 percent and were trading at $10.26, up from a closing price of $8.58 on Tuesday.
