It's difficult to quantify the breadth of the problem. More likely, it is wider than what has been reported, given that a large percentage of molestations never get reported up the chain to the diocese. We already know of several serial rapist priests in Boston - Porter, Geoghan, Paquin, Shanley, Birmingham, etc. And we know of complicity to cover it up by the last two Cardinals.

What we don't know is whether we're at the tip of the iceberg...
