Yes we are, bro (mixed up). I could argue relative values all day, esp. coming out of medicine (including that docs are underpaid), but I won't. However, these guys get paid by their relative value to the man, just like most of us working for him. There is a reason why Bonds or Giambi or whoever get 5 mil or whatever it is. People give the man money to watch him. Companies give the man money so they can broadcast, in whichever media, B&G to people at home which ultimately drives up profits for the media. Etc. But, the asshole who owns Giambi would like to have Bonds to be there to drive up profits even more so the man Bonds works for has to pay him more, etc. They create a service we pay money for ( and have for a long time, eg "Gladiator"). They make us feel good. They sell us youth (men know not to yell in society, but it is expected behavior for grown up boys and girls). They entertain us, get us away from boredom, etc. They give us eternal hope. Just ask Coach. (And lots of times, they perform community service by setting up found nations, etc).
