WCOM WorldCom debt cut to junk by Moody's (2.07 -0.08)
Moody's lowers debt ratings on WorldCom senior unsecured debt to Ba2 from Baa2 and on co's commercial paper to Not Prime from Prime-2. The long term ratings remain on review for possible further downgrade. Moody's anticipates that WorldCom may have to provide security to its bank creditors in connection with the renegotiation of its 364-day facility. Should collateral be provided, the public debt would be effectively subordinated to future outstanding bank debt.
