JakeStraw, Oracle has been generating more than $2 billion in free cash flow per year.

The economy has slowed down most high technology companies.

No, I don't think he is.
I'd say analysts love to gang up. It doesn't necessarily have anything to do with being fundamentally sound or not...

They have ganged up on fundamentally sound companies plenty of times, though they do manage to gang up on companies that deserve it far more frequently (that's only because there are alot of companies that deserve to be ganged up on).
ORCL got slammed about 3 years ago for no good reason. I can see it happening again.

I don't see analysts as particularly good visionaries, let alone free thinkers, let alone knowledgeable about the industries they cover.

I know one analyst personally who knows (by his own admission) NOTHING about the industry he works on. He simply sifts the numbers. Ask him anything about what's happening in terms of issues, visions, or new ideas and concepts and he's out to sea.

My own experience with media analysts is similar. They couldn't tell you the difference between NBC and CBS except about how much they are bringing in. Anyone here can tell you which has the upper hand, which has the better future, etc.
