Mike, I don't get it, why don't trade in's count as revenue? Or is it only "certain" trade in's that don't count. Most people trade in their old car when they buy a new one. I suppose the car manufacturers book the entire wholesale price as revenue since they are selling to the dealers. But what about the dealers? Do they only book the cash "down payment" as income? Somehow I doubt it. But then I'd be the first to admit I don't know diddily about accounting.
