Gottfried my trading account is 100% in cash. I made a couple of successful trades today on the short side of the equation when the market failed to show any upside follow through.

I am quite positive on the semiconductor industry but the nature of those left playing this market was captured in this statement of yours:

Too many are daytrading now and a 10+% gain is irresistible to them.

The SOX lost 3.61% today. Tomorrow we will likely open higher but 500 only held today because it was not tested. We have not got enough long term holders of stock in this stock market anymore. Not in technology anyway.

We need more significant signs of a broad based business not consumer led recovery before we are going to get long term holders in my opinion.

That being said I will be willing to go long in advance of AMAT's earnings report if the market gets low enough in the meantime.

Love the reversible puppet idea but I stay away from credit and hopefully margin too in the future. <g>
