<<if you are looking for a "buy and forget it entry" in this
bear market, you might be waiting a while since we won't get that
until the general public absolutely hates stocks and i'm not sure when that happens >> well i am in the emotional process of getting set to sell my one prize prize possesion, my primary home. It was my hedge in case of a mean market, well it got mean. Hard fact, if i sell my prime home i am set for life, but then it is gone, it ain't mine no more; and that hurts.
But my lesson is this, do NOT base one's future only on the stock market, because there are LONG periods a time that you either work your butt off trading (which i am not doing now because of the above matter) or you just take one terrible licking.
Real estate be a fine hedge, though it was one i rather not have to utilize, but that's the nature of life.
BTW, i do have a 2nd home here in the same community, i call it, my humble abode, so i will not be doomed to living in a Florida Condo:)(that ain't my life style:) Max
