Searle, That was my guess too. They cannot allow this market to fail now. Most 401K's and Retirement Plans have gone down big time, and American's do not want to spend if they do not feel rich. If the markets go, housing and other assets could be next. I have often been concerned about inflation with the money that Alan has poured in. Now I am beginning to think that deflation may be the future to be. For most of America this will be much worse. People do not understand that a continued lowering of cost can lead to worse things than inflation. Alan Greenspan may be fighting the wrong War! Gold should do well in either situation.
