i follow a lot of bike sales on ebay, expensive used bikes (ducati 748/916/996) are selling very poorly, even not meeting reserves that are well below book value, it seems like they were selling better at the beginning of the year after a falloff at the end of last year. not the most scientific of studies but it sure feels to me like there's a glut of bikes out there fwiw

Indian Motorcycle received 45 million preferred stock in june 2001.(Audux group out of Boston) Probably see ipo in the fall.
Our group handling 10 mil raise for American Eagle Motorcycle of 144 stock at $2 w/warrant. Demand seems to be there;just need to get production ramped up. Their working with former Harley management to impliment automated production lines. 400,000 v-twin s sold last year;Harley sold 250,000 range.

Another contrarian indicator. My father often had emergency-room duty as a surgeon, knew everyone for miles around, and said resignedly of those who rode motorcycles, "They all end up there."

Those bikes may have got some of them out of the market at the top <grim g>.
