Allan left after the level of personal attack aimed at him became very, very high. Allen Benn has come and gone from the thread several times for various reasons. I doubt that personal attacks alone would be enough to drive him away. My own theory is that he realized he was a little too obsessed with WIND, and decided to catch up on his golf game. Of course, he also lost some serious money. Possibly, but we don't really know that. He got in very early, and could have cashed in enough shares to make a nice profit.
