I am more into Canadian energy stocks than anything else, partly because the loonie seems so undervalued. I think NCN is worth looking at. They constantly acquire new properties and pay out a large part of current cash flow in distributions. Has the advantage of trading on the Amex.

Of course, that income adds another layer to one's tax calculations--and if you keep it in an IRA (as in fact I do) you lose some part of the tax advantages. But a yield that can get as high as 27% when energy prices are up (over 12% even now) is worth having.

There may be something wrong with this aggressively managed company, but I have not been able yet to see what it might be.
