I am speaking of all the small owner operated businesses which fuel the economy (most of them extremists by the way--vanguards of individualisn, and bastions of defense against government encroachment). These boys do what they want. Even when they are not alcoholic, they often hire people who work for a combination of booze and a couple of double sawbucks. I am not faulting them. Without this, millions more would be unemployed, and a drain on the system. You may not have seen any of this, but drinking costs business a fortune every year. Look at any decently sized company and you will see that they have EAP's in place to try to mitigate this huge problem.
