From Canada? (I don't think so but figured I ask.)

That's where my grandfather had immigrated from.
He was born in Quebec and when old enough to do so, packed
his things and moved to Rhode Island, I think.
From there he eventually made his way to Brooklyn.

Perhaps that explains why I have a halfway decent slap shot
and know how to ice skate...

I don't think my mother knows where his family came from
before Canada. Perhaps France... (That would explain my fondness of fries.)

Never really thought about the possibility being partially French it until just now.

I feel more French Canadian, then French from France.
I tolerate the cold weather better than I tolerate the French
people who pretend to not understand English just 'cause
I'm an American... <g>
