Yes, that's true, but I would rather they just stayed consistent with what they claim to be. I knew exactly what Prudent Bear was doing, and what it planned to do, and if my timing in buying it is bad, that's my problem.

What would really bug me would be to discover that on a day like last Wednesday, the manager panicked and went entirely into T-Bills.

I feel a real sense of betrayal in finding out, about a year ago, that my defined-benefit retirement trust fund had gradually been moving into stocks, and then into higher and higher P/E stocks, over the last past eight years.
