tsk. This critique is hardly representative of my behavior.

"That person was reflective, deep thinking, and philosophical over a wide range of issues, particularly in the area of religion, perhaps even venturing into mysticism. That person was a font of challenging ideas and perspectives, not one immersed in the cult of the personality. Above all, that person impressed me as a very independent thinker that was no man but his own."

That person has also been a very provocative influence on issues of injustice here abouts. I have provoked some of my favorite pals into an arguement, when things smelt a little less than genuine. Some of them have returned the favour.

"This new person seems all too willing to join in with kangaroo courts, witch hunts, and loyalty oaths...

loyalty oaths? To whom, Poet. I have never had a bigger enemy on SI than Poet; unless that would be E or X. It would be tough to pick.

"to join in with kangaroo courts, witch hunts...

Scuze me? I have struggled to understand the issue with Poet and CH as many thoughtful participants here have. I have dialogued with CH extensively to come to an understanding, which I believe we have.

I have been any thing but a friend of Poet over the past couple of years, yet to hold to my own principles I am bound to take a stand for fair treatment of SI community members friend and foe alike.

"...all too eager to curry the favor of the gang, all too ready to accept other's characterizations as with "lark" and "stalking," all too needy to be accepted by "the group."

I have no problem accepting a qualified characterization made by someone else. It would be arrogant or partisan not to.

"The group"

Now we are getting some place. Which group?
