Good arguments....Narrow views of self interest. That is what managing our Foreign Affairs is all about, John. Protecting our self interests. No one else is going to protect them. The rest of the world wants us to give up our self interests and support theirs. Your remark about "Narrow views of self interest" is the kind of statement of "altruism" that drives me up a wall. I expect the State Department to protect us, not be subservient to the other countries and treat them as "clients" of the Department. Unfortunately, I am afraid that the majority of the members of the State Department share your views.
