saw a few things-- like Aaron Fisks column that points at possible PPT manouvers on the three hundred point up day. I have to admit that the way those rallies behave is suspect. They never back fill during the day by more then two Spoo points. In the stocks that I trade I have noticed a large decline in volumes. When house prices peaked in 90 , I recall that allthough prices remained elevated for a while that turnover dropped dramatically. This seemed to precipitate the coming fall.
I also think that I see a lot of manipulation in some of the stocks I trade, to keep their price afloat. The difference I see now is that when the muscle boys show up to push the price up they get very little following. It wasn't long ago that a lot of day traders etc would jump on these moves, but now just the odd pro will show up and quickly dump when there is no follow through.
Two stocks that I trade a fair amount of are giving me a hard time of late as they continue to make new all time highs. The guys at work think that this is poetic justice for such a raving bear like me. <g>
