At least the Dalai Lama, who fled the wrath of the Chinese Communists in Tibet, does not thumb his nose. He preaches tolerance and love. He is loved here in the US not only because of his message but also because of his wisdom. And nobody insinuates that it was his fault he had to flee from Tibet. But the UN does give China a complete free pass on their occupation and colonization of Tibet for the last forty years and more. If I had a dollar for every time I've heard some Palestinian spokesman claim that Israel's "occupation" of the West Bank is the oldest and only continuing occupation on the globe (and the stupid reporter always lets him get away with it), I'd be rich now.
