Months and months ago there was an article about the Japanese carrying gold ingots home in shopping bags. This was when gold broke that old high and started moving up for the first time.

Last week I read somewhere that the Japanese have been having trouble getting there hands on enough gold now, the demand was so great.

I think they are hoarding it. And not only the Japanese...
I think it's being bought around the globe. The big reason IMO is the weakness in the dollar.

It also seems like a good % of traders around SI are long gold. This is the first time in the almost five years I've been on SI that I've seen this. Before then, there was jut the occasional gold bug - usually a permabear. Now the bulls are buying...

Wonder if they ever got those tons of buried gold in that vault under the WTC Out yet...

everytime i see gold is up i can't help but think, "man i hope jpm got the he** otta that derivative position".

what a catastrophe that seems to imply if they can't unwind it.
