Dear Scumbria: It was more then a press conference, dont you see, the OTHER ARABS (and they are the ones that count, the Palistinians are merely pawns in a power game) have come to the realization that it behooves them all to have PEACE. Also, Bush, correctly in my judgement is attempting to make the ARAB NATIONS partners in peace and hold them accountable ALSO, I am sure his thinking is that THEY will control the Palistinians. What about the cease-fire of 1981-1982, which the PLO obeyed but Israel did not? Israel's response was to invade Lebanon and kill 20,000 civilians. This was a full 7 years after the PLO (and Egypt, Syria, etc.) had offered Israel a total peace treaty.
