From my point of view, it seems like being short the market is the SAFEST thing anyone can do. I was thinking of myself as the cautious type, but it's true that I slept on the ground in various obscure places in Yugoslavia and traveled alone in some of the wilder areas in Mexico where tourists simply disappear. I think I will have to leave the motorcycles, the catamaran races, and the home-built airplanes to Earlie, though. Did you know that John Templeton's brother Harvey was Rookie Race-Car Driver of the year (formula V) at the age of 66? I once crewed for him in some very muddy circumstances. I guess there is something genetic there.
