I usually picture partisans as attack dogs, Ms. Noonan is too elegant and classy for that.... Interesting. I label partisans by the strength of their allegiance, not by the style in which they express it. Yes, Noonan is classy, but I don't know that she's less partisan than, say, Carville. I've actually heard Carville occasionally criticize a Democrat. I haven't paid as close attention to Noonan--she doesn't insist on attention the way Carville does--but I recall seeing her defend Republican activities I though pretty indefensible. Even JLA takes exception to the occasional GOP policy or practitioner. <g> I shall have to pay closer attention to her.
