There's no reason to run over the cute little buggers.

I'm reminded of a time when I was visiting the Balkans and one place I stayed at had a caterpillar plague. It was very dangerous because the roads were covered with the things - the whole surface looked like it was undulating -
like driving on ice.

Walking through the forest in a constant rain of caterpillar droppings was unpleasant and you could hear them munching! The birds, bugs and lizards that ate the things were absolutely sated - they were all sitting around like a French family after a Summer Sunday dinner....
