I'm seeing a potentially interesting pattern emerging here.

You, Neocon, and I are the only people in this discussion, as far as I can recall, who have identified them as having a background in college or university teaching. We are the ones who are also more analytical in our approach to this issue, less prone to jumping to false conclusions, and less tolerant of what one might term electronic hysteria.

I don't think this is a coincidence. The academic world has a certain passion for objectivity and careful thinking, and a commitment to the free exchange of ideas even when unpopular, than the world at large tends to have. These values seem to be at play in these discussions.

Huh?

"I stated on SMBR some time ago that I was not involved in Poet's suspension."

You confronted me extensively regarding my involvement in this issue. I did not see such a statement. I asked you directly if you had been involved and you would not give me a straight answer. I gave up. If you had made such a statement, I cannot understand why you would not be frank with me?

You also criticised me for being suspicious, when I pointed out some coincidental incongruities. Now you claim a socratic stance. Hardly man. You have been the most one sided of any one on either side of this issue. On the one hand I give you credit for standing by a good friend and supporting him in some tough times, but it was also you who falsely lamblasted me for having loyalty oaths.

Hmmm. I must be missing something because I have admired most of your presentations in the past.
