Do you think we are putting this much
energy into this because we are simply bored with the usual debate topics? I care Chris.

I appreciate that.

There is a very simple way to end all this. But nobody except me seems to want it.

I suggest that your resources might best be used to reach this simple end. Then we will know one way or another what the true situation is. Then and only then.

If your daughters had a problem, and it appeared that it could be solved simply and easily, wouldn't you push for that solution?

I think, though, that there are people here, sadly, whose personal animuses are more important to them than solving a problem they claim they want solved.

In my mediation practice, when the parties come up with a solution that looks as though it would give each side what they want, but they aren't sure how it will work out, my answer is, try it and see. If it does, great. If it doesn't, you can always go back to look again for a different solution.

Seems we need somebody here to say that to the parties involved.
