David, Dow 16,000 was a prediction, along with Dow 8000, from August 1995 [when nobody was thinking more than 6,000 and most seemed to think a big decline was in order].

I still say that the Dow average will go through that level [16,000 Feb 2002] when viewed from 2006. When Uncle Al's already-printed $$ get loose during the economic recovery, the Dow will zoom.

Despite the enormous crunching that's gone on over the past two years, the Dow is still just above the 10,000 event horizon. NO implosion. To have a bubble like the Telecosmic collapse and not have a lot more dragged into the maw was remarkable. Uncle Al saved the world.

We should take up a collection to buy him a gold dollar note in appreciation.
