BRATISLAVA, Slovak Republic & EL SEGUNDO, Calif.-- (BUSINESS WIRE)--May 16, 2002--

Expansion Provides Comprehensive Service Portfolio to Address Multinational Requirements in That Region

Infonet Services Corporation (NYSE:IN; FSE:IN), a leading provider of global communications services for multinationals, and Aliatel, the leading alternative telecommunications operator in the Czech Republic, today announced the expansion of their service offerings to the Slovak market. According to the agreement, the multinationals in the Slovak Republic will gain access to Infonet's entire portfolio of global products and services, in addition to Aliatel's wide range of data, voice and Internet services, addressing the multinational demands of the region.

Since 1998, Infonet has been providing global communications services to a host of multinational companies in the Czech Republic. Collaborating with Aliatel, Infonet is now entering the Slovak market, to provide clients with access to its World Network®, a global support and services infrastructure currently operating in over 70 countries and territories worldwide.

Aliatel, founded in May 1996, is a joint communications company comprised of Czech electrical and utility companies. The company currently delivers a full range of guaranteed top-quality data, voice and Internet services in the Czech Republic. With quality being an essential requirement of the company's brand, Aliatel was the first to introduce guaranteed quality of service (QoS) in the Czech market and was the first landline operator to be awarded the ISO 9001 quality certificate.

"Infonet helps us reinforce Aliatel's position as a leading telecommunications operator in this region by bringing our clients its strength in integrated global communications services," said Jiri Hubka, General Director and Chairman of the Board at Aliatel. "Both Infonet and Aliatel strive to bring a customer-oriented telecommunications environment in this market, which is beginning to see the benefits of liberalizing voice and other telecommunications services."

"As the market in Slovak and Czech Republic is changing rapidly, we are pleased to be partnering with Aliatel to provide multinationals with guaranteed quality service levels to power their enterprise-wide global communications initiatives," concluded Jose Collazo, Chairman, President and CEO of Infonet.
