More of the figures that you love to ponder over. Gold compared to inflation rate, federal reserve discount rate, and oil prices in constant 1997 dollars. Only oil price is in 1997 dollars. Oil kicks in in 1870. The Fed starts in 1914. I have isolated areas of high inflation rate. And preceded them with an inf. These usually corresond to high gold price, but not always. Look at oil price correlation as it is usually very strong. What more could you ask for?
