USD1 BILLION HP MID EAST SALES: The new HP, the newly merged Hewlett-Packard and
Compaq, will have sales of almost USD1 billion in the Middle East out of total
global revenues of USD78 billion. On Monday HP announced its new regional top
management headed by Joseph Hanania, former Compaq regional managing director.
The new HP boss said he did not know yet whether there would be any redundancies
in the newly merged operations.

LOST AND FOUND WEBSITE: The Sharjah Police has announced the addition of a lost
and found section to its website which is bound to prove a popular innovation.
The Police are also urging the public to give them feedback on email on:
comment@shjpolice.gov.ae.

LOGICA, SMS OMAN: Logica has announced that it has enabled OmanTel to introduce
a short messaging service in Oman. As part of the new text-messaging service,
GSM subscribers in Oman can now send and receive e-mails via mobile phone. The
OmanTel SMS offering is now available to more than 300,000 GSM subscribers in
the Sultanate.
