Z, if the Nassacre begins at the 1710 level, would you expect MAXF to be negatively affected by the down draft? Thanks.

Same sentiment here. AMAT is spending most of the day below the open gap-up. Too many people agreeing with us is what I'm concerned.

Zeev: several well-regarded analysts, most of whom are intermediate-term bearish, believe that a close above 1090 on the S&P 500 will trigger a wave of program buying, dragging all of the indices upward. Since the Nasdaq is the most oversold and heavily shorted, it would (IMO) outperform in any short-term rally. Any thoughts that this may result in a "virtuous cycle" in which there is continued short-covering, leading to new buyers jumping into the market so as not "to miss the rally", etc., etc.

In brief, any chance this is the beginning of the "Spring" rally everyone was looking for, taking the Nasdaq to 1900-2000? Just a thought.

Good advice Zeev- thats exactly what alot of us dark siders are doing.. It was a gift that my longs gave me such decent returns, now I can only hope they push us higher a bit here so I can play my odds on a pullback.. if we get the massacre your speculating about- that would be all the better.. but especially watching the semis rally has me wondering considering that DRAM prices have lost about 50% of their value in less than 5 business days.. Should be interesting to hear some forward guidance given this development..

Let AMAT bring on the good news/rah rah..
