COMPQ behavior into options expiry weeks (Max Pain at work):
Expiry date Behavior(dates of intraday highs/lows for move)
Jan 18 02: up Dec 20-Jan 09, down Jan 09-18
Feb 15 02: down Jan 09-Feb 08, up Feb 08-14
Mar 15 02: up Feb 22-Mar 11, down Mar 11-15
Apr 19 02: down Mar 11-Apr 11, up Apr 11-17
May 17 02: down Apr 17-May 07, up May 07-14
Conclusion:
In every single case this year, the trend changed either during the week of expiry or toward the end of the preceding week. Also, in every single case the prior trend lasted at least 11 trading days before the change into expiry.

and in every case....the week following was down....

and in my worst case plan....i have a dump after the 17th this friday and a ramp into june options starting the 11th and a selloff after the 21st....

hmmm!!!

i guess now next week they ramp....just to make it different....(g)
