The Democrats did, indeed, fabricate between 1 and 2 million Gore votes in 2000, with Phildelphia's 100% "turnout" just an example of how blatant they were. The big story, of course, is that their printing machine fell a few hundred votes short in the key state-and the resultant circus dragged their criminal methods out in the sunlight.

While strict federal voting standards (including a literacy requirement and picture ID's for voting) would go a long way to solve this problem, there is the problem that the criminal party holds some power, and thus can protect their crimes. So it gets kicked back to the states. Some, like NY, Mass, etc. think it's just fine, as long as liberal Democrats are doing the fixing. But others, like Missouri, got a nasty wake-up call in 2000. The reforms will come gradually, and will vary by state. But the Democratic travesty of 2000 has spotlighted this previously-ignored problem, and will drive reform attempts for years to come. In the meantime, this has motivated a large number of previously docile potential voters-like the 1 to 2 million non-voting Christian Coalition sympathizers who have been waiting for an election dominated by the Life issue-to see the danger that can be caused by not fighting back.

This phenomenon will by interesting to gauge in 2002 and 2004. I wouldn't make any plans to see a Democrat get sworn in as president in 2005 if I were you...

I understand the point of the article. My point was to highlight the motivation of Democrats who continue to bring the subject up as if it has some bearing on our current situation.

The writers motivation to rebutt the author was probably derived from the same Democrat mindset which has attempted to deligitimize the Bush Presidency by repeating the mantra "he didn't win the popular vote".

Let's face it, the anecdotal evidence that fraud took place in the election is strong, especially in Florida. But, I'm not going to re-visit all the data we argued about months ago.

Although some supporters of his attempted to tamper with the process, Gore still lost. In the final analysis, all he had to do was win his home state and he couldn't do it.
