Joe, Re: "Didn't Intel say that Intel based servers gained ground at expense of Sun?"

They did last quarter, but this quarter seems to be different. The only thing that I don't understand is how these results seem to differ from results from the exact same market analyst (Gartner Dataquest) one quarter ago.

Dated February 25, 2002:

"Worldwide, second-place Sun dropped 2 percent, to 15.4 percent, while third-place Compaq dropped 0.9 percent, to 13.9 percent, and fourth-place HP dropped 0.1 percent, to 12.8 percent. Fifth-place Dell Computer eked out a 0.1 percent gain to 6.4 percent."

So one press release says that Sun drops 2 percentage points to 15.4% market share from 2000 to 2001, while in the next quarter, a second press release says they enjoyed a y-y growth from 21.4% to 23.6%. What happened to the missing ~6%?
