I have long believed that the corporate tax is paid by the consumer. Companies seek a certain return after taxes and they get it or eventually fail. There is a lot of talent employed on both sides of the corporate tax for no net benefit to society. The U. of Michigan has reported for years on the cost of complying and administering the corporate tax versus the take in taxes from it. It became a zero sum game 2 or 3 years ago. The trend is toward the negative. Tax practices at big 4 firms are among the most lucrative areas. Probably true also for law firms tho that data is too fragmented to gather. I can always learn a new practice area if it is abolished.
