Jeff, if you ever saw Star Trek II, the Wrath of Khan, that scene where Spock saves the ship, and Capn. Kirk goes down there to find him, is like WCOM.

Kirk wants to free him from the room, but Scotty says, "You'll flood the whole compartment (with radiation)."

Kirk says something like, he could die in there!

Scotty says, "He's already dead!" (Even though he's still walking around and talking (ie. he's going to be dead very very soon).

That's basically what I'm saying about WCOM. He's already dead!

We might as well start calling WCOM by its new name, Verizon (although the creditors will probably auction off UUNET, as Verizon already has the cash-draining Genuity).
