QCOM's growth potential over the next four or five years should average about 20 to 35 percent annual increases in book value per share. Note that this doesn't mean earnings growth will coincide with an increase in book value per share. What I'm saying is that shareholder wealth from owning QUALCOMM should increase between 20 and 35 percent annually.

Are there any catches? Yes. One would be the replacement of CDMA with an even more efficient system. While there are some systems under development, I doubt that any can compete on performance in a four to five year time frame. Another would be a sudden collapse of management and loss of key people responsible for the continuing research and development of proprietary systems. I would look for that result in other companies, such as Motorola.(!)

Does my prediction look too high? Only if one ignores the huge markets in China, India, and other densely populated areas of the world.
