HP, Compaq complete merger

May 15, 2002 (New World Publishing via COMTEX) -- The Competition Office
approved the merger of the Hungarian subsidiaries of IT companies Compaq and
Hewlett-Packard, officially making HP Hungary Kft the largest IT company in
Hungary, HP Hungary General Manager Gyorgy Beck announced on Tuesday. Beck was
previously the general manager of Compaq Computer Hungary Kft. The new HP
Hungary expects Ft 60 billion-Ft 65 billion in sales in 2002, Beck said. HP
Hungary currently has 450 employees, which the company plans to boost to 500
