MT: based on your background have you seen evidence of businesses incurring significant cost increases in areas like insurance, energy, labor. I have seen in mfg sector personally.

I dont think guys on CNBC can define INFLATION
nor do they know where it comes from when it shows up in prices of goods & cervixes
a couple have mentioned the Fed money infusions
gotta be fair, but they dont know how to follow it

I suspect the bubblevision heads will be shocked later this year when energy costs show a CPI food/energy up big but CPI core still tame
and shocked in 2004 when price inflation is raging again
the CPI was 0.1% higher than expected, no big deal
any CPI number with a leading "0" is no big deal really

what CNBC ignores is the 30% MZM increase since Jan2001
they dont ask: WHEN WILL THAT MONEY SHOW UP? AND WHERE?
instead they tend to regard that money as the fix for the debt problems and low spending, both consumer and business investment in equipmt
that is where they are in error as journalists

yup, Al GreenStew will pump it up again
but this time his target wont be the biggest beneficiary
he cannot control the destination of pumped dollars
it will be commodities and energy, while the dollar suffers

we read some of the same material

I wish he would write more often though
maybe he is out there doing research with his motorboat
