If you are thinking long term, selling the big winners in a sector and rotating into the small winners makes no sense...unless you believe the winners and losers are equivalent companies and the losers just have not been noticed yet.

I am thinking in a short term sense that GLG may have gotten ahead of itself and the other miners and is due for a relatively larger pullback. I wouldn't forsake my GLG position...just thinking I can buy it back cheaper later.

GLG has had a "overly" strong run the last couple weeks compared with its past performance and the performance of the other miners. I was wondering if anybody has heard any news or rumors that might explain the run.

after my modestly successful foray w/ BEAS last night, I'm going LONG a couple of names for earnings this evening; Intuit and Acxiom.

Cheers

Source/IG Metall -2: Agreement Confirmed

BOEBLINGEN, Germany (Dow Jones)--IG Metall unions and the German employers association said Wednesday they reached a two-step wage deal that is valid until Dec. 31 2003.

The agreement was first reported by sources and then confirmed by the two sides.

The first stage of the deal means that the 120,000 metal and electronics workers in the southern state of Baden-Wuerttemberg will get a 4% pay rise from June 1 this year. As of June 1 2003, they will get a 3.1% pay rise.
