Bobbitt charged with assaulting new wife Associated Press LAS VEGAS -- John Wayne Bobbitt, the man who gained infamy when his then-wife cut off his penis in 1993, has been arrested for investigation of battery and domestic violence against his new wife. Bobbitt's wife of two months told police in Las Vegas Monday her husband pushed her to the ground. She was treated at a hospital for minor injuries. The arrest has cost Bobbitt an appearance on Fox TV's "Celebrity Boxing 2" program. He was to take on Joey Buttafuoco in a bout scheduled to air May 22 but will be replaced by former female wrestling star Chyna. Buttafuoco is the former lover of Amy Fisher, the "Long Island Lolita" who was convicted of shooting Buttafuoco's wife, Mary Jo, in the early '90s. A Nevada judge placed Bobbitt on five years probation in 1999 after he pleaded guilty to attempted grand larceny.
