lots of capital has already left big tech/pharma/biotech stocks, not that this trend can't or won't continue...

its basically to say that it will be a LONGGGG time before investors SELL and just put their cash under a mattress, so given that US equity funds will have money, it will have to be invested SOMEWHERE (after all, they can't hold CASH; that would be un-American

Well, I think I know Americans fairly well. External factors can have a rapid effect on peoples thinking, habits, and outlook. Losing money can bring about some real fundamental thinking in a deteriorating economic situation. We also have a catalyst, the internet, to bring about change.

I hope your right about the stock market and a real sustained recovery is on the way. That would be most helpful.

However, my viewpoint says "doubtful" and some double checking will be done at each step of the recovery.

is there a good small cap growth thread somewhere on SI?
alot these type of threads turn into tout fest of cheap penny stocks that will likely go out of business..
maybe start a thread of true value small caps with good growth...?

>>i don't need much capital to rotate from CSCO/IBM/GE/MSFT/ORCL/big pharma/big biotech/big consumer products (KO, G) to have a gigantic impact on the gold stocks>>

ever figure out the entire market cap of all exchange traded gold stocks?
It is a mind blower...makes me want to over allocate every time I think about it! What people haven't figured out yet is that this time will be different for gold stocks, because there are more people in the market, more mutual funds, more investment dollars, chasing fewer shares. IPO's will become rampant, and before it's over, even those invested in gold will be amazed!
