Excellent post, Yogi. Thank you for bringing it here.

Your point about Neocon's (deliberate, to support his little anal persnickety BS agenda -g-) 'naivete' is apt.

I believe that 'the non-bandwagoners' including the source of 'the problem' know very well the effect of forcing unwanted 'attention' on the female 'objects' of their rage.

I, too, received 'unwanted attention' in the workforce by a couple of really f*ked up peers in management.

The VP to whom I reported understood my unease, but suggested that I 'put it aside' to be a 'team player.'

What it took to end the harassment were two point-blank verbal assaults in the presence of his male peers in the middle of our office space, overheard by 20 other employees and superiors.

That shut him up.

LOL.

Twas great.

Before, however, I had to take 'the matter' into my own hands -- risking my job, not knowing what the superior's reactions might be as I had been 'cautioned' to behave as a 'team player' -- I was very disturbed. Because I felt trapped.

So, yes, I, too have had personal 3D experience with the 'phenomenon.'

It's always a power play. You know that, I'm sure.

bia

I am truly sorry for the experiences you have had to go through. They do explain for me, which I hadn't understood before, the vehemence of some of your posting here.

While you may not recognize the difference, though, I think some people here recognize the vast difference between physical abuse between people who know each other and live in the same house, or community, or work in the same workplace, and electronic postings between two people who live 3,000 miles apart, who have never met or come, as far as I know, with hundreds of miles of each other, and when one is using an alias so nobody, unless she tells them, knows her real name, where she lives other than in New England, her phone number, her place of employment if any, etc., and where one can simply have her computer totally disregard the posting of the other is she chooses to.

This is simply not the kind of situation you have witnessed or experienced.

I doubt that you can recognize that, being as heavily invested as you are in your perceptions, but I think others here may be better able to.

I have discussed, at least somewhat, my personal experience in the area. Suffice it to say that we come at it from different perspectives.......
