I appreciate you taking a perspective that represents and rationalizes any justification for CHs behavior. At some point CH has to move to a perspectve that represents the whole picture. He is not moving there on his own volition even with the encouragement of friends, challenges from enemys and counsel of the wise. Once it is made clear that "goofy," "obnoxious," etc. behavior is having a devastating effect on the target of that behavior, responsibility for what is happening outside of the goofy acting person becomes a bigger issue than how to personify the actor.
