wbmw, in cars you have space, I agree. so you can get by with less dense parts.
In celllphones you do not and if you leave a celphone in a car and it fails, that means those parts will not be used as every celphone will have a few high tem incidents in their life....left in car in sun, etc.
So to be safe they will pick the high temp version.
Some lower temp uses will want the higher density of Intel.
I see a scattered market with little or no interchangeability....good if you win the spec race.
