You honestly don't understand why I would consider Vidrine a far more serious matter than CH? To me, that merely shows how much perspective has flown out the window about CH.......

Concerning "stretching" ...

That is one of the biggest problems I have with this controversy, especially with the "stalking" characterization. There is a lot of real stalking going on in the world, mostly targeted at women, including celebrities. Stalking not infrequently culminates in violence, and women have died as a result of it. It deserves a lot of attention and a lot of preventive measures, including stronger legislation and stricter law enforcement.

Elevating CH-Poet into a stalking incident, does, IMO, detract attention from true stalking. There is no actual contact here, no secretive following of a person, no hiding in bushes, no menacing, no threatening of mayhem, no obscenities. These two have never met and live thousands of miles apart.

This case involves messages on an electronic board. However inappropriate some have been, however unwelcome and unwanted they are, they present no real threat to one's safety and no reasonable person could possibly be "terrified" by them.

When you call that stalking -- You take attention away from the women out there who are truly being stalked, and and who have good reason to fear for their life and limb. You trivialize and minimize what is the true crime of "stalking."

And I do not think that is doing any service to womanhood.
