Borland acquired an outfit call Paradox that had a pretty nifty data base product as well. The guys that developed Paradox took the product to Ashton Tate to try and get them to buy it. The board kept them waiting for several hours telling them they were discussing a make or buy decision. They emerged to inform them the decision was to make and sent them packing.

That one came back to haunt them.
