Of course W's been DENYING ANY KNOWLEDGE It's been mostly his Royal Court Jester, Ari Fleischer, doing the lying and denying. Now he's got to backpedal. Under the Nixon regime, this was called the "modified limited hangout". That's where you begin to admit a little of the truth bit by bit when your stonewalls and outright lies stop working. That way, your media and alibi machine can swing into action on a daily basis. If that doesn't work, you can threaten Congressmen in closed session with "National Security". If that doesn't work, well, there's always another war...
